Digital Workflow for Partial Dentures
We support both conventional and digital workflows for partial denture fabrication. Digital workflows have been shown to enhance patient comfort and work efficiency while achieving good fit.
Digital File Types We Accept
- STL files from intraoral scanners (iTero, Medit, Trios, etc.)
- Conventional impressions (alginate, PVS) for cast pouring and scanning
- Bite registrations

Digital Production Process
- Case Review: We check framework design, clasp placement, rest seat preparation, and survey line requirements before production
- Digital Framework Design: CAD design of framework on the digitally surveyed cast
- Framework Milling/Printing: Precision manufacturing using 5-axis milling or 3D printing
- Framework Try-in (if requested): Resin pattern try-in available for fit verification before final milling
- Teeth Setup: Acrylic teeth placement with appropriate shade and occlusion
- Processing and Finishing: Denture base processing, trimming, and polishing
- Fit Verification: Checked for fit, contact areas, occlusion, and path of insertion
Quality Control for Partial Dentures
Accuracy is critical for partial dentures. Even a small discrepancy in seating can result in open contacts, excessive pressure on abutment teeth, or rocking.
Our QC process includes:
- Scan Data Validation: Confirming impressions or scans accurately capture abutment teeth and soft tissue
- Framework Fit Check: Verifying framework seats completely on the model without rocking
- Clasp Retention Verification: Checking passive fit of retentive clasps on abutment teeth
- Occlusal Contact Preset: Adjusting contacts before delivery
- Path of Insertion Verification: Confirming unobstructed insertion and removal
Important Note for Dentists: For partial denture relines, we require an in situ impression with the denture seated in the mouth to accurately capture the true clinical position. Inaccurate impressions lead to poor fit, incorrect contacts, and occlusal discrepancies.
Implant System Compatibility
We manufacture implant-retained and implant-supported partial dentures compatible with all major implant systems. Please provide your implant system and attachment type (Locator, ERA, Conus, etc.) with your case submission.
